[UK-CONTEST] 80M CC DATA

Phew,

And I thought it was just me.... - same apologies from here - just not
consistent enough copy at either end.. Hit the wrong macro key a couple of
times.

21 in the log with a few "locals" on both modes though I am think there may
be a couple of NILs at the other end; saw one station give the same serial
to the next station he "worked".

Weak fluttering signals in an S6 noise level, callsigns appearing and
diappearing into the noise before you could work them; Exchanges had more to
do with crystal ball gazing than technology - ah-ha there're two or three
numbers that look plausible.

I had some success with PSK compared to rtty when I could find a station in
the contest, though I don't have the luxury of a K3 and good filters :-) I
had expected some PSK63 or PSK125 for speed, but it was all PSK31.

Until last night, I thought I enjoyed data!

Ian,

I recall you were one of the few 'straightforward' exchanges but many, many
more were a real struggle/impossible. My first Data for a couple of years
and more an exercise in seeing how the K3 performed; a measly 24 contacts,
all RTTY.....didn't think PSK31 would be much better given the degree of
extraneous phase shifting that seemed to be going on!

Stewart GW0ETF

Hi All .

I too, would like to add my apologies. I seemed to spend most of the contest
calling people who couldn't copy me or conversely being called by others
that I couldn't decipher either! Data is not my favourite mode by any
stretch of the imagination. It forces me to learn new stuff though.!

Hello all,

Apologies to those who called me and I could not receive you. I have tried
using Wintest and MMTTY tonight for the first time in a contest and found it
is not as good as MixW on weak signals.

Only 14 QSO's but there were many more who called me. Maybe next month I
will have it sussed as there is the BARTG RTTY sprint coming up. See you all
in the phone contest in a week or 2s time.
