Here's another suggestion Andy..... why don't we make Amateur Radio just a
hobby!

Oh, I have just had AirCon installed in my shack so I can now make it as
cold in here as in a tent, hmmmm New Section maybe?

:-) Bob

Democratic or what?

Yes.. Not a bad idea.

But in reply to:

The impression I'm receiving from the last couple of emails is that if
there's no 'fixed' section, people won't get on the radio and work people,
yet, if they can type the details of the weekends activity into a contest
log, then they're fine to work people, yes?

Myself, I found it interesting to work a few of the stations on the air
during the weekend, chatted (typed) to some friends on one of the KST pages,
bashed some aluminum for an RF deck, then worked a few more on the radio.
But..... I didn't need a contest log sheet to get me on the air...

I'm all for moving with the times and I don't envy the powers that be who
make up the rules, but at the end of the day it still seems strange to me
having a fix section in what is a Field day event.
