This was the first one of these events which I've had a clear evening to properly concentrate on it for some time. I was operating from our temporary (only been there 18 months so far ;-) home in the middle of town with a high noise floor and small garden and just used a G5RV with one leg @ 25ft, and the other leg straight down to the garden fence and wrapped round it. All QSOs keyed by hand and just a K2/100, so no SO2V or SO2R. I know I'd have found another 10 or so stations with SO2V.

The sumertime conditions were clearly pretty favourable since I made 115 QSOs which is at least competitive with the 2nd tier of stations. I could run reasonably effectively and there were no issues with losing my frequency. The more distant stations (GMs, F5VHY, the Germans) were much weaker than in the winter though.

These are great contests for 'average' stations to be nearly competitive.
