Derek,

Apologies to the list but the difficulty of nearby amateurs to conform 
to the 'new' Region 1 band plan below 7.1 may be of interest during the 
next 40m contest:
AIUI ARCEP have approved the band extension and this has been published 
in the Journal Officiel on 27th June. But F6BIG, responsible for the 
REF-Union bulletin (= weekly amateur news update) wrote this morning 
that he had been told by the Supervising Administration that the 
publication in the Journal Officiel is, unfortunately, not the final 
step needed. The responsible person told him that the ARCEP move must 
now be approved by ministerial decree - which then also needs 
publication in the JO.
The result, I see from French lists over the past couple of days, is 
that confusion reigns - from which I have learned some new rude words.
