Hello Peter,Frank et all
Been following the debate at a distance so far..
If it is so difficult to field a second team then perhaps consideration
should be given to embracing the more disadvantaged members (but still
keen)running 100w and wires or simple verticals.? It may just be possible
to enlarge the scope of the team event by allowing this level of station
into their own team competition but not necessarly into teams of 10 but say
maximum of 5 or 6 members.(Akin to Open and Restricted Field Days)
I realise it is difficult to field full teams all running QRO with decent
beams and LF Antennas in some parts. However the rivalry between say a GM
Team and G Team would add some more spice to a rejunevated BERU as a result
of the team introduction.
Over the next few years when some spots return we could be organised to
take advantage even if only using 100w and bits of wire. With the minnows
providing feed for the big boys..
Food for thought.

A determined attempt WAS made to deliver a second VE team this year, but
didn't quite make it. It's a tough one, because all the most experienced
guys are already spoken for. Bit like cricket really . . .
