Re Interference problem
INCREASE UR ADSL SPEED AND HELP WITH RFI
Look at http://www.solwise.co.uk/adsl_splitters.htm
There is lots other info on the Net. Some of it wrong of course !
But Highly recommend that u :-
Fit a decent quality PSTN/ADSL adjacent to point of entry into property.
Remember to put it adjacent to urservice provider socket NTL/BT
This means u split the ADSL from the phone connections much better than the external filter supplied by ISP,s for routers.
So the phone line is now isolated from ADSL
If that means you cannot fit ur router at this point of entry suggest u wire from this new NTE ADSL skt
using RJ45. Or fit wireless router.
Clean up all those old gash phone sockets do it and U will have a neat installation and with luck a FASTER ADSL Speed.
Should help with RFI as the filter is essentially a low pass filter for the telephony component.
Rem do not break direct into service provider master socket as it.s always obvious if aan installtion has not been completed by BT/NTL persons.
Bugger it up and u could get a very expensive bill.
However if u have a modern NTE5 u can wire ur kit directly.NTL or BT.
Or get me to do it at £25.00 per hour plus travel and board.!!
Must sort a article some time for Radcomic.

I've said it before, but I still recommend trying the simple bell-wire
disconection trick (documented at
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb_vigor_linefaults.html amongst other
places). It increased my line-sync rate from 4 Mb/s to 7.5 Mb/s and changed
a situation where I would knock out the DSL with 5W on 40m or 1W on 80m to
being completely immune to 100W. This is with a very rough end-fed antenna
close to the modem.

Andy, G4PIQ

Looks like just what I need as well !
I frequently knock out my adsl with RF - one of the snags of having ends of
dipoles terminating over the house and having long telephone cables running
all over the house! Are they available in the UK ?
