At cross purposes here Paul..... I meant when the G station didn't send an IOTA reference at all, presumably casual 'give away a couple of points' (and very welcome!) folk; nothing to do with missing zeroes.

Dave('YMC) - mainland G is EU005 isn't it? So is it that a G without an IOTA ref is assumed to be EU5/EU005 and the scoring penalises for not filling this in? Presumably someone on the IOW or a Scottish island would be aware and keen enough to make sure the IOTA is sent.

I *may* need to stand corrected on this one perhaps because several Eu IOTA Qs were also busted due to the IOTA nr not being filled here; and I've just noticed G3PJT (with a big serial number...) was also a busted Q due to lack of EU005 in our log, and he certainly wasn't a casual participant. Maybe it was all down to our op being a bit casual with the exchanges though Gerry and Paul's comments might suggest it's also something to do with the scoring..?
