[UK-CONTEST] Single Op 6 hour sections of VHF Contests

I was very disappointed to see that there has been no addition to the rules
for 6 hour SO sections of VHF Contests for 2010 in the major 24 hour
contests eg March 144/432Mhz, 144hz May and the 144Mhz Trophy contest in
September.
I raised it several months ago officially with the Contests Committee and I
am unable to find any comments that have been made.
It was meant to be discussed at the VHF Contests Forum at the RSGB
Convention but as I was unable to attend, I'm not sure if it was raised or
not.
I remember years ago there used to be sections of this nature but no-more!
Surely there are Amateurs who do not wish to do a full 24 hour section,
often with limited access to equipment and are not "fixed?"
The same also can be said for the VHF Championship with only Open, single op
fixed and single op fixed 25W.
The success of short VHF contests such as PW and the Backpackers indicate
there is interest. Competing in the 6O section against high power, multi-op
stations is impossible with low power / single ant systems even when located
on the top of high hills throughout the UK.
Comments please?

Chris G0CLP/P
