[UK-CONTEST] Key Clicks.

Hi.
Is it only us O L D G3's who remember the RST system of reporting from the 1950's?
No need to answer that!!!!!!!
However, I find it strange that so many have not heard of 599k or 599c. I was discussing that on
my Morse net the other evening. NOBODY had heard of 599x. I'll assume there are a few G3's
left who know what that is.
However, I agree with the comments about modern transceivers. We all assume that the keying
will ( or at least should) be perfect, in other words 599x. Nearly gave it away then....
I was embarrassed to use my FT1000MP until I did the keying mod.
Regards from Roger, G3LDI
Swardeston, Norfolk.

Hi
I'm inclined to agree with you about the reasons for the response Jim.
So K = Clicks? If I receive 59K that means I am R5, S9 and have key clicks?
Actually I think Yaesu have some responsibility. For an extended
period, they carried on producing FT1000 series models with known key
click problems and never seemed to do much about the design flaw.
