Chris, you're making the assumption that all of the calling stations 
have actually read the
DX station's callsign and are not simply relying on information from the 
DX Cluster
which has told them what frequency the DX station is on & where he's 
listening.
I've sat listening to a station who judging by the associated pile-up 
must be
'DX' sometimes you won't hear the DX 'operator' give his call or if he does
it's just sent once among the calls of the stations being worked.  By 
the time
I've realized that it's his own call that he's sent it's too late & I've 
missed it
(especially if it's sent at 50 wpm).
