About a month ago(but I was 599!).
This was when I was operating /EA8 whilst on holiday on Tenerife, a 
local station said that he knew
that I must be near by because he could hear Clix. (I was using my IC706 
on 18 MHz)
It appears that he was line of sight to where I was just a couple of 
miles away.
(I worked almost 100 QSO's and 60 countries but only 4 stations in the 
UK, one of those was G4AKC
Pedestrian Mobile! I guess that very few stations in the UK beam south 
as there's not much to work in that direction?
Mt Teide which rises to 12,000 ft 20 miles to the north might not help 
either).
