[UK-CONTEST] Weekday contests

Hi Keith,

I was trying to be ironic -- obviously not very successfully! The VHF/UHF
UKAC events are similar to the 80m evening contests, in that the entrants
have a very wide range of experience. However, many HF contesters consider
the international events (at weekends) offer the greatest contesting
challenges, and the weekday contests are good as a warm-up. Some of those
who think they're pretty good at HF contests could have a crack at VHF and
UHF events, where they would be the novices trying to keep up with the rest!

One difference that is evident is that there is a lot more discussion about
HF contests on this reflector than about VHF/UHF contests. This gives the
impression that little is going on above 30MHz, which is definitely not the
case. And it's worth saying that there could be more cross-over between HF
and VHF contesters -- both groups have things to learn from each other.

73,

Ed, GW3SQX
