Hi Phil,
As you will have noted from other recent threads on here contest activity f=
rom Uk has been rather sparse and when I look at submitted logs for variou=
s contests run over the past few months that impression is confirmed.
Due of course in the main to the low sunspot activity, add a few years and =
you will get an entirely different picture but that does not really explain=
the imbalance when compared with the DL's, PA's etc so your question might=
obtain more response if posted on the CQ Contest Reflector.
I am not in the UK but still a long way from VK/ZL. I was looking around hf
for you guys and made around 25 contacts but most were YB's and only 1 ZL.
I daresay if I get on this weekend and band cndx comparable I will make more contacts as cw is a far easier mode for low power stns and I am sure that a lot of the 'G' boys will be turning out Sunday am for the low band long path, particularly 40m, however hf is a very tough call at present times to Oceana for all but the well equipped stations.
Good luck this weekend.
