I don't think that informing is at all the same thing as advertising.  It 
would hardly have been proper for me NOT to pass the original mail on!  I'm 
sure there were subscribers to this reflector who, like me, had no idea what 
CQ100 was - well now they do and that knowledge empowers them to follow up, 
or not, as they choose.
As Paul says "Amateur Radio it is not", but it does appear to be a perfectly 
valid form of entertainment.  We pay to go to the theatre or participate in 
any number of sports and passtimes, so there's nothing wrong there.  And if 
we don't get some sunspots soon, and if the PLT problem continues to 
proliferate, CQ100 may be all we have left, HI.
