Great big diddydidit didit to that Steve. I don't think you can say
CQ100 is perfectly valid, when we have PLT to contend with. And the
scandalous promo on the front page of Radcom for Wired D-Star saying
'talk worldwide without a radio' isn't benign either.

The proponents of PLT want to fill the HF bands with S9+40 QRM making
our bands, and the broadcast bands, completely unusable. And here we
are, handing them CQ100 and Wired D-Star on a plate so that they can say
"you don't need the HF bands after all, do you?"

I am dismayed by the lack of action by RSGB over PLT, failing to spell
out the dangers in Radcom and failing to issue clear guidance on how to
lodge a complaint with Ofcom. That allows Ofcom to say there have only
been 143 cases, and it's really not a problem.

Faced with this lack of action, the only hope is that the other
shortcomings of PLT will kill it. PLT commonly leads to reduced
broadband connection speeds, for a start. Talk about BT shooting itself
in the foot. So why isn't RSGB shouting this from the rooftops? Beats me.

There are many of us who want RSGB to take legal action, and have stated
we would be prepared to put significant amounts of money into a fighting
fund. After all, what is the point in having thousands of pounds' worth
of HF gear in the shack if PLT renders it unusable?

So please don't tell me CQ100 is valid. It is helping to drive the nail
into the coffin of HF amateur radio.
