Subject: [UK-CONTEST] SD Updated

The new version of SD offers several innovative
features to give users an even greater competitive
edge. SD is free from www.ei5di.com.

Plausible Uniques:
PUP (Plausible Uniques Percentage) command added,
with values from 0 (the default) to 5%. SD links
to QRZ.COM to insert QSOs with appropriate calls and
exchanges - according to the assigned PUP rate. QSOs
are added only when you change frequency by 2 kHz or
more on CW, or 6 kHz on SSB. Calls are selected in
line with recently worked countries, by band.

As a bonus, when several SD users enable PUP logging,
some calls are likely to appear in other logs and
will no longer be uniques.

One disadvantage is that some of the "uniques" may
happen to be active in the contest. That's not a
problem. If you hear them, work them, otherwise
just delete the earlier "QSO". If they call, work
them - dupes don't matter in Cabrillo logs.

If there is sufficient demand, the maximum PUP will
be increased. For the moment, I'm testing higher
values myself.

Self-Spotting Coefficient - SSC:
We all know how useful it is to be spotted, and how
frustrating it is to be unable to try a bit of self-
spotting without incurring the wrath of the cluster
police.

SD links to DX Summit, via multiple proxy servers,
to generate spots for your frequency - using calls
and IP addresses derived from K1TTT's databases.
It's not necessary to have your own call spotted
since you probably don't care how other contesters
get to your frequency, so long as they do.

This option should be used with caution, as SSC
values above 0.5% (1 in 200 spots) tend to arouse
suspicion.

ESM (Enter Sends Message) and Spotting:
In CW contests, when using ESM in S&P mode, SD now
spots all QSOs. This gives your callsign a bit of
visibility on the cluster, and it's likely that the
people you spot will be more inclined to return the
favour in future.

Rig Control:
Rig Control has been extended to allow simultaneous
control of any number of remote rigs, located at the
QTHs of SD users worldwide. It's perfect for putting
the wires back into wireless - you'll have an S9
signal and great reception on all bands. Now you can
level the playing field and give yourself the chance
to be a real contender.

Please contact me, with full details, when you add
remote access to your station.

WinKey and Serials:
SD integrates with WinKey to send the occasional
incorrect serial - you get the points but they don't.
For RoPoCo, the postcode is modified. This feature
is controlled by the presence of matching calls in
a standard text file TARGET.TXT (add your own calls
with NotePad) in the same folder as SD.EXE.

73,
Paul EI5DI
