Hi Roger.

I heard it in NE Hampshire just before the contest, so I went round and
switched off all the battery chargers, electric toothbrushes, etc. I didn't
notice it during the contest.

Subject: [UK-CONTEST] QRM on the PSK freq

Hi.

I had a disastrous night last nigh in the Data section. Try as I did,
and I spent twenty minutes trying, I made just one PSK contact and
that took 4 minutes! I am getting a huge noise on the PSK frequency, and it
seems to also peak again on 3552. DId anybody else have
problems? What the hell is this awful noise? It sounds like a cross between
OTH radar and DRM to me. There seems to be no intelligence
being transmitted, and the waterfall on MMVARI was cluttered with just
noise, lines about every 20Hz and NO copy.
RTTY seemed to be unaffected by it for the strong stations anyway.

I also suffered two lock-ups with the mouse which needed the PC to re-boot
and then to top it all the PC failed completely at 9.10 and
I managed to get it back on after three attempts with a " Your PC has
recovered from a serious error" message. Oh dear........

Regards from Roger, G3LDI
Swardeston, Norfolk.
