Sympathise with your views Tom.

Trouble is many popular awards can only be gained with a QSL - British
Commonwealth and IOTA for example; (tho credits can be accepted with a
corresponding match in the BERU and IOTA contests).

Until some sort of arrangement can be made between ARRL/LoTW and various
National Societies cards for some folk will continue to be a very
important method of QSO confirmation.
