Thanks for the follow-up from your report. I'm sure you find it 
disheartening that your posting triggered off all these tired postings with 
personal agendas - I take a simpler view and welcome the new 'glasnost' of 
the Contest Committee and hope it will continue.

My recollection may be wrong, but when introduced the CC events were 
intended as 'starter events' to attract newcomers into contesting in a 
relatively stress-free way and that they would then graduate to some more 
complex events. This seems to me to be where the development work needs to 
be done - some 'intermediate' level RSGB-sponsored contests or awards which 
help the newcomers move up from the CC type of contest.  UK-only 
sections/awards within existing international HF Contests is one good idea, 
but nothing has happened I don't think ?

Maybe separate HF and VHF uk-contest reflectors are a good idea ?
