Hi Peter

I think you'll say to yourself 'why didn't I do this years ago?'. There are
many others on here with more experience of contest DXpeditions than me but
my advice would be :
1. Keep you station as simple as possible - no Microkeyers etc - just a
basic station with everything as lightweight as possible.
2. Use resonant antennas if possible and don't bother taking an ATU. Buy
some Mini-8 coax.
3. Don't bother with a back-up switch-mode PSU, just take one or two small
12v computer fans (very light) to blow extra air over the PSU, rig and/or
you ! (If your PSU fails, pinch a car battery from a nearby vehicle)
4. Set absolutely everything up in your garden before leaving the UK, with
the laptop, radio, coax, antennas etc as close as possible to what you think
the final configuration could be at the contest station. Test for keying,
RFI, etc.
5. Take some clip-on ferrites and spend $15 on an Ameco TV HPF if you think
there might be nearby TVs.

Looking forward to working you in BERU next year.
