[UK-CONTEST] Why so many HF spots on the VHF cluster list?

I wonder if it has something to do with the radio sending an incorrect
frequency to the PC? i.e. something on 7mhz with a frequency of 7.021.045
(for example) and the cluster thinking this is 7021045khz and thus spotting
it on 4m?

73,

Andy

Hi Bob

I can't recall seeing any replies yet.

I guess it's finger trouble. I spend quite a lot of the summer months on 4m,
and I lose count of the number of 7MHz spots that end up saying 70.xxx.

Should be really amusing for those people with integrated radio and computer
who "click on the spot" to qsy !

Hi,

Off topic, but maybe some of you HF guys can shed some light on this.

Is it simply finger trouble times the number of spots, or is it something
wrong in a stations logging program that sends the wrong frequency info to
the cluster?

There have been quite a few spots for ZL8X appearing in the VHF 50 list
today, but it's happening all the time recently.

Apart from being annoying, the sender isn't getting his/her message across.

MTIA,

Bob G8HGN
