I too agree with Peter. No attraction for me with SSB I'm afraid. I think we are 

pandering to the "newby - I can't do CW" brigade. Shame, but I guess that's 
progress. Don't think I shall be there.

Many thanks for another excellent and rapid-fire adjudication!  

However,  I'd thought the idea discussed over past months was for 
overseas stations to be able to work each other for one point, thereby 
greatly increasing interest for this very important element and bringing 
the event into line with many similar events run by other national 
societies.   For some unexplained reason this hasn't happened.

As it stands, there is no longer a separate CW section.  For me, a major 
attraction of the event over the years has been lost at a stroke and I 
suspect a significant number of current entrants will also wonder why 
the change has been made in exactly this way.  

Never mind, the excellent CQ, ARRL and SP and a number of other national 
top band events remain with sensible rules.  RSGB has just cocked up 
(again).
