Aah, that'll be similar to the "oldie - wobbly modes aren't proper radio"
attitude then. As a "newbie" (i.e. under 50 and without a "proper" G
callsign) choosing not to do CW is merely that, a choice. Having a young
family means that being able to dedicate the time to becoming a decent CW
operator is just not there. Nothing to do with any pandering and just the
sort of silly comment that is so often heard, unfortunately, on top band.

 

Why not make the contest mixed? For those that do CW, it won't affect them.
For those that don't, it will allow them to take part. For those that do
both then hooray for them. 

 

I don't get why this has raised the ire of some people - if the contest was
dying on its backside then surely anything to get people back in is a good
thing.

 

Ho tiddly pom. Time to pop on asbestos vest.
