Leicester Radio Society has a x2 4CX250 Home-brew amplifier.
This is a old design using Copper tube as the anode lines.
Built and op bt G3TQF G3HYH
John G3MYI also built one. Need one say more ?
The tubes having an oversize sleeve which fit Round the anodes of the valves.
Pretty well known design has advantage that the heat is conducted away from valves as well of course normal air blown.
I think its an ARRL early 1960,s design.
As someone borrowed my handbook never to return it. Any info regarding cct or construction most appreciated.
I recall it gave 500 watts or so out using an external PSU.
PSU designed for single valve and got very hot !!
Now has inbuiltPSU in a nice 3 ft square cabinet with metering etc.
Would like to fire it up with possible view for resale.
Note not the K2RIW design
