I know of an amateur a few miles away who applied for planning permission
for a fixed 60 ft tower.

Following objections the council turned it down, so he bought 3 x 60ft
mobile towers and put them up instead.

More objections, but the council could not apparently ask him to take them
down because they were 'portable'.

Following some negotiations between him and the objectors he arrived at a
compromise with all parties - full planning permission for ONE fixed tower
up to 100ft high.

That's what I call a result ):
