More likely that they don't want to raise their heads above the parapet?

I don't know who raised the issue of 'level playing fields' but it
wasn't me,
all I suggested was that groups that are formed with the sole intention
of taking part in contests (I was thinking particularly of AFS & NFD)
should have their
own section in the results table (in the same way that there are already
'restricted'
& 'open' sections in NFD).
You only have to look at some of the results to see that that most C.G's
are
in a different league to ordinary club entries.

I've never participated in 80M CC's although other CARA members do,
whether the same comments apply to these contests I have no idea.
(I can't seem to work up any interest in evening contests).

That was in response to this

"we have the same financial restraints as any other group

Roger/G3SXW".

I very much doubt that, 'financial restraints' must differ widely
across the amateur population, some of us are fortunate to be able
to choose how we use our resources others aren't so lucky. This
doesn't necessarily stop them from putting up good contest scores
particularly on the LF bands where megabuck towers, beams & amps
aren't the norm.

Handicaps, level playing fields, play by the rules? Some take part in
contests just for
fun, as in any other 'sport' some are out to "win" by any means
possible, there's
nothing new in this. Unfortunately the nature of the beast makes it
almost impossible
to police except perhaps with the exception of NFD.
