There's also the other sort of leakage with RG213 types, even the 
smallest nick in the outer jacket will allow water ingress and capillary 
action will do the rest. I noticed some unusual effects on the feed to 
my HF beam last year. It turned out that the braid was corroded over a 
length of about 10ft and was completely open circuit, not something 
which I ever expected to find.
