[UK-CONTEST] World Radiosport Team Championship -- G4BUO, G4PIQ

Good Luck to the UK R3?? team

My own Propagation forecast suggests that there may be something on 15m
between 09:00 and 11:00 and again around 18:00 to 21:00. 10m looks
desparate but there appears to be a glimmer of hope around 17:00

I call my forecasts "guesstimates" but they are based on the last 14 years
wwv info and are not to far out (normally!)

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. We look forward very much to working
everyone in the contest and I really hope that many UK stations will take
part in the mini-WRTC contest chasing the 50 WRTC stations across all 10
band/mode slots which is described at http://www.wrtc2010.ru/?id=51&idp=29.
If you submit your logs to the overall checking process inside the 6 hour
deadline you'll be eligible for the various awards and will greatly help the
judges adjudicate the event.

Teams will all have randomly allocated callsigns are not allowed to identify
their nationality. So - if you hear us on SSB - and even if you're sure that
it's one of us - but we don't say 'Hello Fred' or whatever when you call -
we're not being anti-social - just observing the rules! We'll still be
really happy to work you everywhere! I think Ed's analysis of propagation is
what I'm expecting at least and hopefully Sporadic E will make 15 & 10 more
productive than the propagation predictions suggest.

I must be almost ready now - after nights of making up cables, boxes,
interfaces, modifying rigs, sorting computers and generally fixing things, I
have just finally put some knobs on our audio switching box - a level of
luxury too far maybe!

73,

Andy, G4PIQ & Dave, G4BUO and R3??

Yes, it's good that UK involvement is higher this time.

I don't have any specific information, but RadCom suggests
that Moscow should be available through most daylight hours
on 20m, about 1800-dawn on 40m, and best around 2200-0200 on 80m, as you
might expect. There is no propagation shown for 15m, but I would be
surprised if the band didn't open at some time during the day, although we
could be unlucky. As for 10m -- the band can sometimes surprise us -- hope
for the best!

73,

Ed, GW3SQX
