Yes Tom, some QRP stations get far more QSO's than I do with 100 Watts to a dipole at 40 feet. One can only wonder what antennas they are using. With a genuine 10 Watts to a G5RV your QSO count is very good.

Subject: [UK-CONTEST] SSB Club Championships
I was very disappointed with my final score last night in the SSB Club Championships. After seeing such big scores in the QRP section in the last few months, I thought I stood a good chance with the set up I have.
I wasted allot of time trying to call CQ with no reply, then went S/P with not much luck. Only 32 contacts.
The rig was an FT897 and 10W into a Full size G5RV at about 30 feet, also use a Heil Pro Plus head set. The antenna fires North / South so I thought I would get out quite well.
Thanks for all the comments on the Antenna, next time I will try a dedicated dipole for 80M and see if that helps.
