Hello all

Interesting to read some of the other reports on WW SSB. I did Single-band
20m this year, with no great expectations about how well things would go.

I have S1-2 powerline QRN when beaming to the U.S.A. - doesn't sound much
but it cut off a whole layer of U.S. stations who were calling me. My
friend Jim GM0NAI / GM7R, who lives about 8 miles from here in a straight
line, sent me an MP3 recording of my U.S. pile-ups and it was disappointing
to hear how much more easily I could have copied the signals if I had been
at his QTH.

Overall I found conditions quite good, with good LP openings to
VK/ZL/Pacific on both days. It's a real thrill when calling CQ to hear
'Victor' on the second radio when you go back to receive.

K3 + 1000MP + H/B amp + 2 x HyGain 205CAS + 4-square.  Total = 3576 QSOs.

Please work me from Shetland in WW CW = GZ7V. Shetland Islands in late
November = rain + 60mph winds 24/7 + aurora overhead !
