I am an avid contester in my own right and at times with the local club.

I personally have never even considered entering this particular 
contest.  I would rather use my personal resources to enter in many 
other HF (for that matter VHF) contests before I even thought about 
entering this one.

At club level, there are many more interesting contests to consider 
before this one and most clubs will have the same approach.

My view is that contests are like life. Life is born, becomes a child 
then an adult moves through middle age to old age and then death.  A 
tiny number,  like BERU, will never grow old, but others have reached 
their end game as this one has.

It is a wise person (or committee) who kills off activities that are in 
their death throws and goes on to concentrate energy and resources on 
viable activities. So keep focused on the really viable contests like 
CC, AFS, Club Calls, IOTA, AFS, etc and look at inventing new contests, 
but bury the old first.
