Seems to me however that HFCC need to take account of the difference 
between what people say and what they actually do.


If I recall, precisely the same situation occurred when the 7Mhz DX 
contest was cancelled, viz there was an outcry, but the plain and 
glaring fact was that nobody cared enough to get on and make it viable. 
Those with good medium term memories will recall that the 21/28 was, for 
a number of years, swamped by the WAG contest, and had to be moved. The 
fact is, sadly without doubt, that a contest where everyone just works 
the U.K. is proven not to be viable, because unlike the DLs, the SPs et 
al, we simply cannot get our troops in the field in sufficient numbers; 
how I wish it were otherwise. In view of the outcry, it is clearly part 
of the democratic process that this event should receive a staay of 
execution, but that it should be judged harshly on the turn out next 
year which needs to be substantial if it is to have any future.
