There aren't many occasions when we disagree Paul, but this is one!
I don't see any conflict with the Cabrillo format and both the robot
and log checking software are the business of the rule-makers (who
aren't complaining!). The issue appears to be that some loggers don't
allow anything other than a valid PC code to be entered after the
serial, thereby preventing all QSO data, received in accordance with the
rules, from being entered in real time. This is a feature of the
loggers in question and not a reason to change the rules.
The log checking software used by the adjudicator may well be keeping
tabs on OE, PA or whatever region codes, which again would be a
perfectly valid thing to do. Recent adjudication reports have
reconfirmed that all received data is to be entered.
While recognising valid UK PCs, would it not be possible to allow
alternatives to be logged, where the call itself is recognised as not
being from the UK?
