Thank goodness I'm not in that group!  I'm getting in a
twist because the issue of remote contol in contesting is
fundamental, and has the potential to undermine whatever
claims we still have to our bands.

I see it as the corruption of amateur radio - just as when,
in any other competitive activity, you introduce something
that fundamentally changes the nature of the activity.

As are weather forecasts, radio-telephone calls, phone-ins,
and music.  This is an amateur-radio contesting forum.

just like, presumably, stamp-collecting?  Amateur radio is
more than just a hobby, it is a recognised radio service.
