I think a lot of you are getting your knickers in a twist about nothing.
The original message was about OH2BH using his station remotely in the
Azores nothing about taking part in a Contest.....
I'm sure Contests have something in their rules to cover it.
I see it as another "modernisation" of amateur radio, a bit like
skimmer, SDR, etc. Remote operation is commonplace in commercial
radio. Take Shanwick Aer radio for example. Operators in Prestwick,
gubbins is in Ireland. The old maritime communications system in the
UK had coastal radio stations like nat Stonehaven Radio, Portpatrick
Radio etc. These were remoted so that one station could operate the
equipment at another.....
Amateur Radio is just a hobby. Outwith contesting or award collecting,
who cares where your TX/RX is located.....
Lets not loose any sleep over it...
