I agree, I don't like the format. I would rather put my time and effort 
into an international contest entry than this very parochial one.

If you want to liven up this set of contest slots why not make it more 
interesting by making it a simultaneous 2 band contest on 160 & 80m.  Or 
even be very daring and make it a 80m and 2m contest. But not using the 
sprint format.
