[UK-CONTEST] Win7 to LINUX

Hi Neil,

I've been using linux in the shack since about 2008. I've even switched
to using it at work! But I accept it's quite a different way of doing
things and not for some.

I too used to use N1MM, but I'm sorry to say there's nothing like that
for linux yet. It won't run under wine either. I think your best option
for a native linux app is TLF, which is what I use. It was in the
doldrums for a while, but Tom (DL1JBE) has recently taken on its
maintenance and things are moving forward again. It's now hosted on
github (http://github.com/TLF/tlf), but I suggest you also check out the
mailing list archive here:
http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/tlf-devel/ where the most recent
post has announced the latest release. The main thing I missed about
N1MM was the bandmap, but some work is now being put into that on TLF.
Of course you could run SD under wine, but I prefer TLF.

I also use CQRLog. OK2CQR has also written a winkey server that will
allow you to use TLF with cwdaemon to interface with winkey.

Good luck with linux. E-mail me direct if you need any more help.

73 Andy, G4KNO.
