Gerry GI0RTN is a better operator than I ever was,
or ever will be. I know because we have operated
together a few times. He is tireless, completely
focused, and gets the best out of anything he uses
in contests.

Lest anyone think I'm a whiner, and not a winner
(very occasionally), I have been placed 1st, 2nd
and 3rd (World, DX), operating SO LP Mixed in the
ARRL 10m contests over the last couple of sunspot
maximums - operating from home in suburban Dublin.

Contesting can be fun, and a personal challenge,
regardless of the circumstances. However, I
believe it is basically unfair because it is
basically unregulated.
