Steve, I think it is a little unfair to single out one UK group. At about 2230 I tuned across the band starting at 1810 KHz and it was full of 
mainland Eu stations right up to about 1940 KHz. In fact I didn't hear any UK station at all during the short time I listened which was more 
disappointing.

I have done this contest in the past as GJ2D and GU8D. I don't have access to the logs but I am sure we used all of the band, I certainly don't recall 
conciously or otherwise keeping to sub band limits. You have two choices - Don't enter or use whatever part of the band others are using. You go where 
the QSOs go!

If the contest organisers think it is wrong for us Europeans to ignore band plans they should include that in the rules and make sure it is policed.
