We all have our views.

Using FSK is historic. AFSK is a much better proposition as it allows 
the TX frequency offset to be changed at any time to whatever frequency 
is required. It also when filtered by the generating software has a much 
narrower bandwidth occupancy compared to most FSK implementations. I 
often suffer from key clicks from those using FSK.

As for a TS2000 a design from at least  20 odd years ago and not very 
well designed for that matter.  I cannot understand why a designer would 
go to all that trouble and cost to put in narrow IF filters and not 
allow them to be used on SSB.

  I have used Drake C twins, FT1000MP and now K3. All of them allow 
narrow filter use on SSB. The best by far is the K3 with its dual 
passband filtering and specific AFSK configuration coupled with 
extraordinary receive performance. So beware fellow data contesters not 
a good idea to buy a TS2000 or for that matter any other rig that does 
not allow narrow filter use on SSB/AFSK mode.
