I concur with Tom and Andy, far better to use FSK and have clean tones 
transmitted. Especially by those inexperienced with digital modes as is 
often the case with those cajoled to come on and support their Club.

AFSK is fine when the audio levels are correctly set (TX output checked 
on a Spectrum Analyser) but how many Amateurs are in a position to do 
that?  Judging by the rubbish signals transmitted on PSK on Club 
Championship nights I would say very few!
