[UK-CONTEST] Alienation

I wonder if some of the debates recently seen on this reflector will
alienate those people that lie low and contribute little to the public
debate. Of course it will. I don't contribute here anymore since I believe
my contribution will only be picked over by extremists.

 

This drift towards more and more extreme views by (on the whole) an older
RAE fraternity is almost certainly damaging the UK Contesting reflector's
reputation (and the wider field no doubt) and it's certainly bugging the
hell out of me. 

 

Why can't we be a little more friendly, tolerant and warm to each other?

 

I really don't get it.
