I don't recollect reading this 'vitreolic article' and thought I read 
most of RadCom. Perhaps you could point me to it?...

I am deliberately keeping out of this argument, one which keeps coming 
up from time to time. Whatever you say you will not change the 
situation that many have no interest in contesting and feel that it 
contributes little to our hobby. I find myself somewhat in the middle, 
I enjoy some contests but many weekends I wish they weren't getting in 
the way of normal DXing. Come to that ST0R seems to be taking out most 
of the CW part of 17m at the moment, another aspect of our hobby that 
annoys some.
