Had it not been through a current bought of illness then I was down to assist at GM4AGG/P tomorrow then operatate Sunday from home on 23cm and 13cm in a UK Microwave Group Contest. The latter will go ahead but I will try to give some points away from home during NFD when possible.
The "Restricted" section appears the prime canditate playing field for the CC to look at for groups and clubs who prefer an example of basic unassisted competition. The open section can therefore develop to become an example of taking a fixed station operation to the field to the satisfaction of those who prefer such progressive Field Day operation in tandem with the ever increasing technologies made available.
I do not suggest the restricted section revert back to a 1947 era rule arrangement but a simple 100w TCVR and one antenna at max 60' and nothing else but battery/genny + accomodation of choice like tent, caravan, van, motor caravan be acceptable.
