[UK-CONTEST] Long calls.

I always enjoy the IOTA and for the past few years have operated out of
Arran as MM3M and MM1M (Although the licence states M3M and M1M!). Now to
your question, are you resident again in Gods Country? If so you should
update your licence operating address to Scotland otherwise you should be
operating as /A from home! Some say /A was done away with some years back
but I have a feeling it was brought back? I hope this year to find a CT
island to operate and I am considering a few options at the moment including
Desertas Island but has huge spiders and I am not that keen on them, anyway
its a nature reserve so that gets me off the hook on that one! I think most
likely it will be Porto Santo which should be close enough for UK work too .
The trick in this contest is to be close enough to the UK to work the low
bands and get 5 points for every UK station and far enough away to be of
interest to all! So perhaps that will get the debate underway?

I was reasonably pleased with my 2009 IOTA result as EA1/G4WZG/P despite all
the repeats my long call produced. The /P was optional but I reckon it was a
good move to use it since in this particular contest I reckon people's ears
prick up when they hear dah-di-di-dah-dit di-dah-dah-dit. On several
occasions I worked a multiplier busy with a pile up after an initial
response of "/p agn ?"

Fortunately, although now resident in GM, my licence states "G4WZG"
otherwise I presume I would have to sign EA1/GM4WZG/P ? Or do all secondary
modifiers get dropped when working abroad ? Perhaps some knowledgable person
might want to confirm this. Its always fun asking for knowledgable folk to
answer on this reflector :-). Cue different points of view..... At least
there can only be two points of view in this case. Or does someone want to
debate that point....

Seriously, keep up the good work everyone - this is one of the few email
reflectors I read religously.
