The /P, /A and /M are as per the licence non-mandatory in others words
you can use them if you want to but you do not need to use them if you
do not want to.
However some contests mandate the use of these suffixes for that
particular contest scoring system, e.g. Field Day use /p for truly
portable stations.
Having only ever been resident in England but if I moved to Wales or
using a mobile install drove over the Welsh boarder into Wales then the
licence tells me that I have to use the "W" regional identifier. Like
wise a GM going to England would have to use the English regional
character (none unless you are a 2 call, in which case have to use "E").
