Hi Chris,

Interesting, this may well be covered off in detail on the web site link you sent (not investigated fully yet), but I guess there could be some anomalies - for example, 'what if' someone comes on late in a contest (new meat) and is able to sustain a high rate for an hour. Would that be seen to 'better' a.n. Other who has been on for the full contest period? Unfair comparison  I would say.

Example being yours truly who wasn't really 'in the contest' for ARRL SSB this year, but I came on 20M in the evening and worked over  400  Qs in a straight hour-and-a-half run. I appreciate that rates are relative and having, say 300 q/HR show for a ten minute period means nothing.
