If they were using interlock, then it's entirely legit within the rules 
and I happily withdraw any criticism.

I personally have no problem with that operating technique - it's a 
clever use of technology to maximise the score within the rules. In some 
ways it's no different to SO2R. If the contest community, however, feels 
it isn't desirable, then it can make representations to the contest 
organisers and they can change the rules - as Roger SXW has already 
alluded to.

But personally I have no big problem with it.
