[UK-CONTEST] Contest Signal Quality

I see no justification for ANY mode to have a dreadful sounding signal. Perhaps there should be some
kick-ass disqualifications and then they might take notice.
1: Over-processing producing IMDs will keep people away.
2: Using echo superimposed on the transmission is another way.
3: Using too much audio in the first place, to increase background noise.
4: Using a transceiver with a known keying problem, i.e. the FT1000MP. That will also keep others at bay.
5: Running ALC deliberately on PSK to widen the transmission, evident from the waterfall.
6: Running a high-power linear prior to a contest starting to "keep" the frequency. ( witness the RSGB CC tests )
These, and probably others I have not thought of, are reasons that contesters are maligned. The main problem is
that contesting is so popular that there are more contesters than frequency available. I don't see that changing in my
lifetime however!
Perhaps we should have more monitoring for bad signals with an appropriate punishment and some bonus points
for the good quality transmissions.
