Considering the lower spec RG-213 or UR67 co-ax common among many HF 
installations. You'd need 127metres of either of these at 14Mhz to get a 3dB 
loss. That's over 400feet of cable, which I'd contend is not an average 
length. Using better cable would lead to less loss and benefit on RX too.

An average run of co-ax would be 20-30 metres at most. For UR67 that equates 
to 0.7 dB at 14Mhz for the longer run of 30 metres, and just over 1dB at 
30Mhz.

Using the best co-ax you can afford benefits you on both TX and RX, and you 
won't strain the amp' in trying to get 400W at the antenna.
